Advanced High Temperature Materials for BOF/EAF Hoods and Roofs

Funding Agency: U.S. Department of Energy

This project will utilize the expertise of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, McDermott Technology and most of Ohio's steel industry to develop and demonstrate new high temperature materials for use in steel making. These materials have direct impact upon coal fired power plants and will compliment the UltraSuperCritical materials program outlined above. Total effort for this project exceeds $3Mil with the U.S. DOE providing $1 Mil and the consortium providing the match.
